Origin

In the 1850s openede in Hamburg a small "Hotel zu den Vier Jahreszeiten". The main asset of the Hotel was it´s exceptional location on the Alster, but it was too small to be profitable.

Making Opening of the Hotel

in 1897 Friedrich Haerlin bought the Hotel and little by little he enlarged it and made it become a Hotel Legend. You can add information here

Different Owners / Management

The Hotel was kept by the Haerlin family until 1989. The family was known for difficulties between the late Mrs Haerlin and her daughters. In I989 the Hotel broke a World record. The japaneese Business Man Hiroyoshi Aoki bought it for 200 Million DM (Deutsche Mark), the highest price paid at that time for a Hotel Building. The price paid by the japaneese business man was so high that the Hotel management was not able to earn the interest rates and in 1997 the hotel was sold again to the Raffles Hotel chain from Singapore. April 30 April 2007 the Hotel come under management of the Canadian Luxury Hotel chain Fairmont.
