Opening of the Hotel
In 1880, Cesar Ritz purchased the palace and transformed the former Hôtel de Lazun building into a 210-room hotel. The architect was Ritz Charles Mewes who had to update the original 1705 structure.
The Ritz Paris hotel opened on June 1, 1898.
