Origin
The spot of the Hotel Normandy is located next to the Casino de Deauville opened in 1864. In 1912 the Casino is rebuilt by the architect Georges Wybo.
Opening of the Hotel
The Hotel Normandy in Deauville was built in 1912 by Eugène Cornuché. Eugene Cornuché was the owner of the Maxim´s in Paris (today owned by Pierre Cardin). He also built the Hotel Royal Deauville a year later.
The architects was Théo Petit who in 1913 build the Hotel Royal Deauville and in 1923 the Hotel Majestic Cannes.
The Normandy was built in the same year as the second version of the Casino of Deauville.

Today the hotel Normandy is owned by the Societe des Hotels et des Casinos de Deauville (SHCD) majoritairement detenu par la famille Barriere. Le Groupe Hotellier Accor a egalement une participation dans SHCD.
Special Events
In May 2011 the Hotel Normandy hosts part of the G8 Summit.
