Origin

In 1880 was created in Dijon La Place Darcy.


Opening of the Hotel

In 1884 Edmond Goisset opens the Hotel de la Cloche facing the place Darcy.

Different Owners

1902 Louis Georges buys the Hotel. The Hotel becomes a spot for the rich and famous sometimes on their way when travelling between Paris and the Cote d´Azur.

After the construction of the Autoroute du Soleil, Dijon is no longer a direct spot between Paris and the Cote and the Hotel declines. In 1973 the decision is made to close it and to sell it to a reals estate promoter. The interior of the Hotel is sold. Due to the emergence of a local movement to protect the Dijon Landmark, the Hotel is saved in the last minute october 29 1975 when the French Ministry of Culture puts it on it´s list of Monuments Historiques.

A financial Group buys the Real Estate and the Hotel reopens in 1982. In 1984 the Jacquier family buys the Hotel. In 1994 the Hotel associates the the Sofitel Luxury Hotel chain in the Accor Hotel group.
