The Countess of Damas acquires the property on 112 rue du Fbg Saint Honore which is given to her daughter, the Countess de Vogüé. 1829: The emblematic Count Jules de Castellane aquires the Building and decorates it like a fairy tale. The today´s Winter Restaurant was a private theater. The place was a meeting place of the high society of that time.

[edit] Opening of the Hotel

In 1923 Hippolyte Jammet, son of the owner of the famous Parisian Restaurant "Le Boeuf à La Mode" buys the Building. The Hotel opens in April 1925 and is named Hotel le Bristol, in reference to the eccentric British Count Bristol, a well known British Luxury Traveler. The Hotel is an immediate Success.

After the second world war the Hotel becomes a place for a German clientele, guided by the chancellor Konrad Adenauer.

[edit] Different Owners

In 1974 Pierre Jammet, son of Hippolyte becomes the new owner of the Hotel.

In 1978 the German Businessman Rudolf August Oetker buys the Hotel following the advise of a friend and year long Hotel client, Luitwin von Boch who had already advised him to buy the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc in Antibes.

The Hotel Bristol is since that time a property of the Oetker family.
