Fairmont Hotels and Resorts is a Canadian Luxury Hotel company which was founded in 1907.
Many of the historic Fairmont Hotels were built in the late 19th and 20th century
by the Canadian Pacific railway company.
Aquired in 1999 by the Canadian Pacic Hotels and Resorts
the company became more Canadian,
but it was the Fairmont name that survived the merger.



The company originally started in San Francisco where it had opened the historic Fairmont Hotel.

Recently the company bought the Singapore based Raffles Hotels group
through which many more prestigeaou Hotels have been added to the chain.
